Fans of the scatty, punk writing of the man behind the book Trainspotting – Irvine Welsh – are in for treat. Filth, the film adaptation of Welsh’s 1998 novel is set to satisfying any yearnings you may have for a solid dose of twisted characters and black humour.
James McAvoy takes on one of his most memorable roles to date as Bruce Robertson – a bipolar, junkie, sociopathic detective. When he’s not up to his eyeballs in drugs, alcohol and sleazy sex, he’ll stop at nothing to destroy the careers of his fellow colleagues in a bid for a promotion. Sounds like a charmer, right?
Sit down, buckle yourself in and prepare for a wild ride as the film follows Bruce manipulating and hallucinating his way through the festive season. As he becomes entangled in more scheming against his colleagues, the pressure to solve a murder case begins to take its toll on his sanity.
Filth is in cinemas on November 21, and to celebrate we have ten double in-season passes to give away for use at participating cinemas. To enter, email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject ‚ÄòFilth giveaway’, include your name and address and tell us in 25 words or less why you would like to see Filth.
