The world’s biggest celebration of Chinese cinema outside China has opened in Sydney, and there’s an exciting array of films to choose from at the Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival.
Award-winning movies from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Macau have been hand-picked to run over this weekend in Sydney (Randwick Ritz) and later in the month in Brisbane (Hoyts Sunnybank Plaza) as part of the annual celebration.
Watch two people struggle with mortality in The Sun Beaten Path, the lives of modern young women in China in DIVA, or the story of a 21st Century grass roots election in China with A Cherry on a Pomgranate Tree.
There’s a closing night awards ceremony that is set to include the finest Chinese filmmakers and producers, and so many more films not to be missed.
